BUNAC believes that the best way to experience a county is to fully immerse yourself into the culture and community. Our 6 month Teach and Travel China programme gives you the perfect opportunity to do just that whist working in a Chinese school. The 4 week intensive TEFL course will provide you with all the necessary skills and knowledge to work as a teacher intern. You will live amongst the students and teachers and get an invaluable insight into their ways of life. Take time to share stories and life experiences, learn some of the local language and sample the local delicacies. It all adds up to provide you with a unique and memorable travel experience.

Programme options
Operated in conjunction with the Teach and Travel China company (TTC), Teach and Travel China is one of only a few programmes to offer an in-country residential TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) You will study for the ELC (English Language Company) Certificate in TEFL for 4 weeks before working as a teachers assistant at a Chinese school for 5 months.
The course has been designed to prepare those who have never taught English before. It comprises two phases:
1. Theory and Teaching Practice. A full time course of 108 hours over four weeks including teaching methodology and teaching practice. You will also be introduced to Chinese culture and customs through excursions, activities and Mandarin lessons.
2. Practical experience. All participants complete a 5 month placement in a school and receive a reference. The ELC Certificate and school reference are both awarded at the conclusion of the placement. Positions exist in kindergarten, primary and secondary schools throughout China and will be allocated closest to your needs and suitability. All participants will be placed with at least one other person on the programme.
