Work America programme costs: £399

If you have previously held a J-1 visa through BUNAC then you can apply as a Work America returner and pay a returner fee of just £339.

Other Costs to consider

US visa fee £135
Mandatory travel insurance & US government SEVIS fee £173
Support funds $600 (if you have a pre-arranged job)
$1000 (if you are job hunting on arrival)
Support funds can be in your name or in the name of a guarantor, like a parent.

How to Apply

  1. Initial registration
    Pay just a £100 deposit (non-refundable) to gain access to the Online Job Zone and start job hunting! If you are booking after 9th March, you will need to pay the full programme fee of £399 at this stage

  2. Documents upload
    Upload your documents including your participant agreement and proof of your student status

  3. Pay 2nd payment 
    Remaining programme balance of £275 if you book before 8th March. Or the full fee of £399 if you book after 8th March

  4. Insurance and DS-2019
    You must purchase BUNAC insurance and pay the SEVIS fee before we can request your DS-2019 (the official document which allows you to apply for the visa)

  5. Book your embassy appointment
    Once you have paid your insurance you can book your US Embassy appointment via your BUNAC account

  6. Phone interview
    Once you have completed steps 1 - 5 we will contact you for a phone interview

  7. Travel to America! 
    Once your visa has been issued, you are ready to fly to the USA! Our office in America will be on hand to offer you support throughout the summer!
