Big White
Big White Ski Resort is located 56 km southeast of Kelowna in the picturesque Okanagan Valley. It is the second largest resort in British Columbia after Whistler-Blackcomb. It has a central village which comprises accommodation, eateries, bars and shops.

Big White boasts a longer than average ski season, usually running from mid-November to mid-April.

Fernie
Fernie Alpine Resort is located in the southeast corner of the British Columbia Rockies, about 60 km west of the Alberta border and 60 km north of the U.S. border. Fernie Resort is renowned for its superb natural snow conditions. Snow usually starts to fall at the end of November and stays well into April with an annual average snowfall of 875 cm (29 feet), making Fernie the snow capital of Western Canadian skiing.

Kimberley
Kimberley Ski Resort is located in the southeast corner of British Columbia, and is only a four hour drive from Calgary, Alberta, and Spokane, Wash. Kimberley Alpine Resort is famous for consistent snow conditions, mild temperatures and long days of sunlight, and is well known as an excellent family resort.

Panorama
Panorama Mountain Village is a ski and golf resort located in the remote area of the Purcell Mountains, British Columbia. Panorama is situated on the warm side of the Canadian Rockies, so it's rarely as cold as the other mountains in the area. Located just two hours drive south west of Banff and three and a half hours from Calgary.

Whistler
Whistler is a friendly ski village located in the heart of the Coastal Mountains of British Columbia, approximately 120 km north of Vancouver. Whistler is home to almost 10,000 people and offers some unforgettable skiing, snowboarding and unlimited winter activities. Whistler was the host for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The Whistler Village offers a wide range of community services, shops, entertainment venues, restaurants, bars and hotels. 

Whistler is one of the most renowned and prestigious ski resorts in the world. There are two key ski-mountains, Whistler Mountain which is popular with snowboarders and Whistler Blackcomb. The easiest and most affordable method of travel to Whistler from Vancouver is by Greyhound bus. The journey time is approximately 2½ hours and services run regularly throughout the day. 

If you are going to Whistler to job hunt then we would strongly suggest you book a few night’s accommodation in advance of your arrival and have a Plan B and set yourself a time period for job hunting in Whistler. Eg. if you are unable to find work within say a week you will consider moving elsewhere to job hunt, if nothing else call SWAP as they may have listings of vacancies in other resorts.

Alberta

Banff/Norquay
Within Banff National Park you have 3 excellent ski resorts to choose from; Sunshine Village (which is a popular place for participants to work), Lake Louise and Mount Norquay. These resorts are now known as ‘The Big 3’.

The town of Banff is only a 2 hour drive west of Calgary and is a well known destination for world wide travellers. It has easy access to all 3 ski areas and is a friendly and up and coming town. Banff offers a great mix of shops, cafes and visitor attractions including the world-renowned Banff Hot Springs.

Lake Louise is slightly further west of Banff and claims to be one of the largest ski areas in North America, while Mount Norquay is closer to downtown Banff.

Jasper
Lake Louise is known as the “Jewel of the Rockies” and is considered one of the most scenic places in Canada to ski. The town itself is quite small, making it a very cosy and personal resort, however the resort does not have as many facilities as some of the other resorts in Alberta.

The Village of Lake Louise and the Lake Louise Ski Area is located in heart of the historic Banff National Park Banff National Park, approximately 184km west of Calgary and 60km west of the town of Banff.

Nakiska
Nakiska is nestled in the heart of the Canadian Rockies in picturesque Kananaskis Country, which is only 45 minutes from the vibrant city of Calgary. Nakiska was the home to the Calgary 1988 Winter Olympics and is a fairly small and simple family friendly ski resort.

There is no accommodation on the mountain, however Kananaskis Village is only 5 minutes away.

Quebec

Tremblant
Mont Tremblant is the second largest ski hill in Canada. It is situated only a couple of hours north of Montreal and has a real French atmosphere. Mont Tremblant has been Eastern Canada's best known resort since the late 1930’s and was the first resort to open in Canada and the second in North America. 

The region's continental climate means that the abundant snow in the winter, is ideal for world-class skiing.

Mont Sutton
With its 968 metre summit, Mont Sutton which opened in December 1960 is one of the three largest ski and snowboard resorts in Quebec. Located only 90 minutes from Montreal and in the heart of the Appalachian Snow Belt, Mont Sutton receives an average of 470 cm of snow per year.

Blue Mountain Ski Resort
