BUNAC Jobs Directory

Most Work America participants tend to find work by simply handing out their CVs and applying to job advertisements either before they leave or on arrival in the States but BUNAC also offer great resources to make your job search as easy as possible!

BUNAC’s invaluable jobs directory takes the hard work out of the job hunting process. Packed with all the info you need to find work (and accommodation) in America, it includes tips on how to put together your CV as well as interviews with previous Work America participants. Best of all, it contains listings of employers that have recruited BUNACers for seasonal work in previous years and are keen to do the same this year. It’s your chance to arrange your job and accommodation before you depart so all you have to do on arrival is enjoy the summer of a lifetime!

Internships

You’re not limited to seasonal jobs - you can also find an internship and get great work experience. Read Davida from the BUNAC team's story and get tips on how to secure your own internship.

Here is just a taster of what’s available in the Jobs Directory now:

Wait staff required for a golf club in New York

  • Free accommodation
  • 5 positions available
  • Earn $350-400 a week plus bonus

Front Desk Clerks required for Beach club in Martha’s Vineyard

  • Free accommodation
  • 6 positions available
  • Earn $8 an hour and a $2500 bonus at the end of the summer!

Tipping is part of American culture, meaning those in the service industry can supplement their income and earn a whole lot more than they would in the UK. Jade Steven, who worked in a Michigan fudge shop last summer and is returning to Work America this year, says “since Americans are big on tipping - I survived off my tips and never spent any of my wages!”

Do we arrange placements?

With over 48 years of experience, we believe in helping you find the job that is right for you based on YOUR personal skills and location preference. We don’t believe in guaranteeing job placements for our members as this can limit your opportunities and earning potential or restrict you to a particular town/city by pre-arranging a job that may not suit you and your experience. The vast majority of BUNAC members don’t have a problem in finding work each summer.
