Direct Placement program for counselors, support staff and specialist soccer coaches
2012
BUNAC offers a Direct Placement service for camps that have hired first time overseas
counselors or support staff independently and for first time specialist soccer coaches.
The applicant pays a reduced registration fee to BUNAC and there is billing to the
camp of $150 (reduced from $1640). The billing does not apply to specialist soccer
companies.
Even if you are not planning on receiving any BUNAC-recommended staff this year,
you must still complete the online Staff Requirements form so that your direct placement
or soccer staff applicants can be processed. Please also read and agree to the program
Terms & Conditions.
Application process
For applicants from the UK/Ireland, the registration fee for a direct placement
or specialist soccer coach is GBP295 ($475) which includes insurance and SEVIS,
the US government J-1 visa tracking fee. For staff/coaches in other countries please
call us for information on costs and procedures.
Counselor and soccer coach applicants should be directed to
http://www.bunac.org.uk/uk/summercampusa/soccer.aspx for further information
and to start their application.
Support staff should go to http://www.bunac.org.uk/uk/kampusa/directplacement.aspx
.
Without exception, all first-time staff must be interviewed by BUNAC and we must
have a satisfactory interview evaluation on file before an application can be processed.
For UK applicants and those from countries where BUNAC has offices or co-operators,
this presents no difficulty. For other countries, please contact us for further
information before recruiting.
Each staff member must complete the BUNAC application forms in full and in detail.
This is for their, your and our protection. BUNAC reserves the right to reject any
applicant if the application is not deemed to be in the interests of the program.
An applicant rejected by BUNAC either at interview or subsequently is not eligible
to participate in the program and will receive a full refund. BUNAC will make available
a copy of each first-time applicant’s dossier to the camp.
Each applicant must apply for a Criminal Background Check in order to register with
BUNAC. In the UK, the cost is GBP35. In other countries, coaches must apply independently
for an equivalent check.
N.B. The London Embassy has strongly advised that someone with ANY criminal record
is extremely unlikely to receive a visa, even if he/she has previously been granted
one. We can only recommend, therefore, that you screen out such applicants in advance.
All US Embassies/Consulates currently require personal appearances for first time
applicants (in order to collect photo and full fingerprint biometrics); the appropriate
information will be given to the applicant by BUNAC at the visa stage based on the
latest Embassy regulations. The costs of making a visa appointment (currently around
$150) and of transportation to/from the Embassy, are the applicant’s responsibility.
Appointment delays can add 2-4 weeks extra to the visa process, so please ask staff
to allow plenty of time and to follow the advice given by BUNAC.
Once your staff begin arriving in the US we will contact you weekly to confirm staff
arrivals for SEVIS Validation – we ask for your cooperation.
