Visa

You will need to obtain a 462 Work and Holiday Visa for Australia which will enable you to supplement your holiday funds by working while you travel. BUNAC will send you complete instructions on how to apply for the visa.

Can I take my children? You are not eligible for the visa if you have dependent children.

  • BUNAC program fee: $549
  • Visa fee: $420 Australian Dollars
  • Support funds: $5,000 Australian Dollars
  • Insurance coverage for 12 months (from BUNAC $672, but you may purchase your own if you choose)
  • Flight: BUNAC recommends calling STA Travel for an estimate on the flight cost as this will depend on when you leave and where you fly form. You can call them on the BUNAC hotline at: 1-800-553-7907

Insurance

BUNAC offers a policy tailor-made to meet the needs of all Work Australia participants. The cost will depend on the length of your trip and the type of cover you require. For example, a twelve month policy costs $672. Full details will be included with your acceptance pack. All participants must have adequate insurance. If you choose to take an alternative policy, you will need to provide evidence of the cover to BUNAC before travelling. Please view the details of our insurance policy.

Cancellation conditions

Cancellations are only deemed to be requested when written notification is received by BUNAC, but not otherwise. In all circumstances the visa fee is not refundable once the visa application has been made. The figure below is the cancellation fee. The value of your refund is equal to the amount that you have paid less the figure below (refunds will be made by check, payable to the applicant):
