Flights

BUNAC has set up special flight deals for Work Australia participants including an exclusive 24 month validity ticket with Air New Zealand. Details are provided on application or call 1-800-462-8622 for further information.

Arrival in Australia

You specify the date you wish to enter Australia and book your flight accordingly. On the ‘416’ visa the four-month program “clock” starts ticking on your specified entry date and expires exactly four months later. Please note that if, for example, you have to enter a week after the specified date, you will lose a week of your four month’s work authorization.

You must book your flight to Sydney or Melbourne as these are the locations of the mandatory arrival orientation. We will book your first two night’s accommodation in accordance with the confirmed flight itinerary you submit to us.

Orientations are held on average three times a week and last about two hours. After your orientation you can be as independent and free as you choose and still have the knowledge that IEP will be there to help you if needed.

BUNAC recommends that you don’t arrive in Australia between Christmas and the New Year. The IEP office is closed during this period and finding work can be difficult. We may be unable to book accommodation for you during this time.

Australia/New Zealand combo package

With this option ‘416’ participants can combine four months in Australia followed by up to twelve months working and traveling in New Zealand on BUNAC’s Work New Zealand program. Work and Holiday visa participants are able to do the combo option but will have to spend less than a year in Australia in order to arrive in New Zealand within the validity terms of the visa.

In order to apply for the Work Australia/Work New Zealand Combo Package you must indicate on the Application Form that you are applying to both programs. The standard fees of $655 for Work Australia and $495 for Work New Zealand apply for both programs. Two separate money orders payable to BUNAC should be sent in at the time of application.
