Volunteer India offers placements in community, awareness and volunteer teaching in India. The projects are in three uniquely different regions of the country, giving you a chance to experience the culture, the people and much more.

What volunteer work in India can I do?

We’re looking for volunteers in India who will contribute to projects in communities where help is most needed.

At a one-to-one UK orientation interview we’ll discuss your skills, experience and, of course, preferences to ensure that you’re assigned to the right project for you.

In India volunteers are needed in a variety of regions and project areas. Click on the box below to find a project you’re interested in and where it’s available.

Where will I be working?

Our Indian volunteering projects are based in three regions of India: Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh or Goa.

While there are regional differences (cultures, climate and social conditions) the project activities are very similar. Basic information is provided here and we will discuss your placement and region in detail during your orientation interview.

Click on the Regions below to find out more about each area and the type of projects available.

How long can I go for?

Our Volunteer India placements last either 8 or 12 weeks and include an arrival orientation.

You’ll have the chance to travel at weekends but to make the most of this fascinating country why not leave some time at the end of your programme to explore further afield?

Who will I be working with?

We place volunteers in existing projects, working alongside local people.

On BUNAC's volunteer in India group programme you will also be working alongside other BUNAC volunteers from around the world.

Where will I be living?

Your accommodation is included in the programme cost.

Whilst on the programme you will live in volunteer dedicated accommodation, sharing a room with between 2 and 4 other volunteers. All meals are provided on working days. The accommodation has plenty of home comforts including refrigerator, DVD player and TV.

Volunteers who work in either Rajasthan or Himachal will receive their orientation in Jaipur where 4 nights’ accommodation will be provided in a home-stay with a local English speaking family.

When is the next volunteer India arrival date?

The next available arrival date for volunteer work in India is July 5th 2010.
