Why your help is needed

BUNAC works with Indian schools that are in real need for support from English-speaking volunteers. Classrooms in underprivileged regions of India can be extremely overcrowded, so often it is often difficult for teachers to provide pupils with the kind of educational support that those in the developed world enjoy.

Volunteers on the project support local schools primarily by taking English classes, but there are also opportunities to get involved in organising extra-curricular activities, from arts and crafts, dance or music, to sports days and football matches.

Some students may have learning difficulties or come from migrant communities or child labour backgrounds, so the project is a truly eye-opening experience for many volunteers. As volunteers are encouraged to involve themselves in students’ educational development in any way they can the project can be extremely rewarding for those who love working with children.
